To no one’s surprise, the Lions worked out a number of veteran kickers Tuesday in the wake of Nate Freese once again being a field goal liability this past weekend.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, some of those notable names brought in by Detroit include Rob Bironas, Alex Henery, and Garrett Hartley.

The 36-year old Bironas was cut by the Titans last March and had a workout with the Bucs during the offseason to no avail. Last season, Bironas hit 86.2 precent of his attempts making 5 of 7 from 40-49 yards and 2 of 3 from over 50 yards.

After losing his job to rookie Cody Parkey, the 27-year old Alex Henery was cut by the Eagles to get down to the 53-man roster limit at the end of camp. Last season though Henery hit on 82.1 percent of his field goal attempts and made one of two tries from at least 50 yards.

Lastly after spending five seasons with the Saints, Garrett Hartley was cut by New Orleans back in December. Hartley is also coming off his worst season as a pro converting on 22 of 30 attempts in 2013.
