Today the Lions signed former Patriots wide-receiver Aaron Dobson according to NFL insider Rand Getlin on Twitter.
I'm told former #Patriots WR Aaron Dobson is signing with the #Lions.

Interestingly enough, with the addition of Dobson the Lions will now have five receivers on their 53 man depth chart which obviously raises some questions as to if there will be a corresponding move. Currently, not including Dobson the Lions have Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, Anquan Boldin and Andre Roberts.
Dobson also brings some potential to the Lions. The former second round pick back in 2013 had a nice rookie campaign with the Patriots hauling in 37 receptions for 519 yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately however Dobson couldn’t capitalize on that early success and has since only caught 16 catches for 179 yards in 12 games.
And in light of the Ameer Abdullah injury, the Lions worked out a familiar face in Joique Bell Tuesday. However according to Justin Rogers it sounds like Detroit will pass.
I can confirm Aaron Dobson is signing with the Lions. Joique Bell's workout didn't amount to an offer at this time.
