Lions looking to acquire Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson?

With Jordan Dizon out for the season the the secondary and backfield already looking thin the Lions may be looking to acquire Kansas City Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson.
According to Chris McCosky of the Detroit News, the Lions have had internal discussions about Johnson but never made the move. Johnson however has been on a downward spiral in terms of productivity by only having 37 tackles last season after averaging around 90 his first four seasons.
McCosky believes that Johnson may just need a change of scenery including being able to play in a 4-3 defense which seems to be more suited for him. Another candidate that has been mentioned is former Patriot Adalius Thomas. Thomas, though, still unsigned, is an outside linebacker much better suited to a 3-4 system.
Although this is all basically talk right now, you can probably expect the Lions to wait until the first round of cuts happen before they move forward on a replacement for Dizon.
