Lions

With Calvin Johnson gone, the Lions potentially could turn to Anquan Boldin to add further veteran depth to their wide receiving rotation.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Lions will host the free agent wide-out Boldin today in Allen Park. The three-time Pro Bowler had previously worked with head coach Jim Caldwell during his time in Baltimore with the Ravens.

The 35-year old Boldin had previously spent the past three seasons with the 49ers where he caught 69 passes for 789 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games during the 2015 season.

Despite the lack of interest in Boldin from other NFL teams, he has been linked to Washington and the Buffalo Bills according to theScore.

Lions add WR Andre Roberts

Speaking of depth, the Lions added wide receiver Andre Roberts to a one-year deal.

The former third round pick of Washington was released back in May after the team drafted Josh Doctson in the first round.

Career wise Roberts has 2,711 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Lions may choose to use him as a slot guy or someone on special teams returning kicks.
