To โCaldwellโ a lead is to choke away a sizable lead after the half due to a lack of halftime adjustments. Get use to that term because Iโm sure this isnโt the first time youโll hear it.
Anyways, thatโs exactly what the Lions did today. They had a โCaldwellโ moment the second half squandering a 21-10 halftime lead (which at one point was a 14-0 lead in the first) only to come back with a late Matt Prater field goal winning 24-23 and handing the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season.
In addition to the Eagles suffering their first loss, Philly rookie quarterback Carson Wentz also threw his first interception which didnโt come at the best moment. Looking to go deep late in the fourth quarter and move his team into field goal range, Wentz was picked off by Darius Slay which ultimately sealed the deal for the Lions.
Carson Wentz looks DEEP.

This wasnโt the only turnover though Slay caused late in the fourth. In fact, it was a hard hit laid on Ryan Matthews by the Detroit defensive back that helped Prater kicked what ended up being the game winning field goal with a little over a minute and a half left in the game.
