YouTube user Tristin McKinstry put together contrasting videos from the 2019 draft when the Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia regimes were running things and this year when Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell took over.
Typically these types of videos give off the fanboy feel of “things are going to be so much better now that we got rid so and so”, however, this particular juxtaposition is incredibly interesting.
First I don’t want to say too much about the Brad Holmes/Dan Campbell portion of the video simply because that seems like a natural reaction to getting the best offensive lineman in the draft when there were absolutely no guarantees he slides to them.
Meanwhile, Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia ran their “War Room” like Bill Lumbergh ran Initech from “Office Space”.
I mean seriously, look at some of the guys in the background.
You can totally tell at one point Quinn came into their cubicle on a Friday to let them know they had to come in on Saturday and Sunday because they lost some people and had to “play catch up”. Also how many “Hawaiian shirt days” did each of those poor saps have to go through?
In all seriousness, though this may give some insight into how things were actually like in Allen Park during the Bob Quinn/Matt Patricia regime and why guys like Darius Slay were so outspoken when Patricia was finally canned.
