The Lions addressed a pretty substantial issue just hours away from NFL free agency is set to begin.
According to FOX Sports, the Lions re-signed restricted free agent running back Joique Bell to a 3-year, $9 million dollar contract with around half the money guaranteed.
“I feel so many different emotions going through my body right now,” Bell said in a quote posted by the Lions. “I don’t know whether to laugh, cry, hug my mom or grab my son.”
The 27-year old, Benton Harbor native was drafted out of Wayne State University four years ago and spent time jumping around Buffalo, Philadelphia, Indianapolis and New Orleans before being picked up by the Lions in 2011. It was his 2013 year though that Bell in essence had a break out year who along with Reggie Bush became the only RB duo to combine for more than 500 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving.
Prior to his signing the Lions tendered Bell with a 2-round pick.
