The Lions have agreed to terms with two of their own unrestricted free agents.
On Wednesday the Lions announced that they’ll bring back third string QB Drew Stanton and special teams cover man John Wendling, both of whom played key backup roles for the Lions last season.
Drew Stanton, who was a 2nd round pick out of Michigan State for the Lions back in 2007 may have saved his job last season when he won two of three starts filling in for an injured Shaun Hill and Matthew Stafford.
Like previously mentioned, Wending played a vital role on special teams especially on punt when he consistently was able to down punts deep. He was a Pro-Bowl alternate and spent some time as a backup safety.
Stanton’s contract is reportedly for one-year while Wendling is for three.
