The always outspoken LaVar Ball has revealed where heβd like his son LaMelo to end up after next yearβs NBA Draft.
During a recent interview with βThe Pascal Show,β LaVar mentioned that heβd like to see LaMelo end up with either the New York Knicks or the Detroit Pistons who hold the No. 8 and No. 7 picks respectively.
This may come as some surprise considering LaVar made no mention of his desire to see LaMelo play in L.A. with either the Clippers or the Lakers who originally drafted Lonzo Ball before he became the centerpiece of the trade that netted Los Angeles Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans. LaVar only made mention that L.A., specifically the Lakers not being the right fit for LaMelo while taking a shot at their then βraggedy-ass coachβ.
βThe makeup that they have right now, thatβs not good for me,β Ball said. βWhen they finish with the AD and LeBron here and all that, βcause check this out: I already had a son in L.A. with a raggedy-ass coach. So it donβt matter where you go, the key is to have the right coach behind you.β

Obviously LaMarβs comments mean absolutely nothing, especially considering itβs highly unlikely LaMelo is even available at seven, let alone eight. Not to mention too LaMelo told reporters last month that heβs his βown manβ and believes he can play for any team.
