With the dismissal of Jim Caldwell last weeks, rumors began to circulate that former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel was getting some consideration for the vacant Colts head coaching job.

Tressel has been getting these considerations because of his experience coaching a big name college program and his employment by the team in 2011. ESPN’s Adam Schefter hinted that Tressel could not be ruled out despite the concerns as to whether or not Tressel could coach at the NFL level. Still it looks as though the Colts are going to do their homework and find out exactly what Tressel could do for them.

To add fuel to the speculation, the Indianapolis Star reported that Colts owner Jim Isray flew down to Sarasota, Florida where Tressel owns a home but did not elaborate what the trip was for. WBNS-TV out of Columbus further said that a meeting between the two sides took place Friday over the vacant head coaching job.

Sunday morning, Jim Isray tweeted the following…

I haven’t been to Sarasota,Fla…although I’m sure the weather’s nice.”

Still it seems like you can add Jim Tressel’s name to the list of legitimate candidates for the job.
