Perplexed and confused were the words of choice by Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo after State’s loss to Penn State on Saturday that dropped the team to 10-5 on the season. This is according to Shawn Windsor of the Detroit Free Press.

What also seemed even more baffling for Izzo was the fact that he believed the team had their best practice leading up to Saturday’s match up against the Nittany Lions.

“We didn’t do anything very well,” Izzo said when asked about his teams performance on Saturday.

Izzo didn’t think that his team played Saturday the way they did in practice throughout the week citing that the team started out the game as if they were playing in quicksand. Windsor also wrote that Izzo wondered whether his team is complacent because of the back-to-back Final Four appearances the last two years.

Wait till March has been a fan mentality for Michigan State fans the past few seasons, however the way the team is playing you cannot help but get a little worried and ask a few questions about the team.

Things don’t get any easier for Michigan State either.

Up next for the Spartans are the Wisconsin Badgers who beat State by 18 last season in Madison.
