Two years ago the Chippewas were the class of the Mid American Conference. They won the MAC title for the third time in four seasons and found themselves ranked in the final Top 25.
However this season is a totally different story.
The Chippewas are currently struggling sitting at 2-5, 1-2 West and are 5-14 in the last two seasons while allowing 33.7 points this season.
For head coach Dan Enos, things haven’t gotten any easier this year as he’s lost defensive tackle John Williams and middle linebacker Mike Petruccito injuries. Furthermore Enos may also be without linebacker Armond Staten.
“It didn’t hurt,” Enos said of Staten missing last weekend’s game against Eastern Michigan. “One guy’s not going to make a difference in a team rushing for 350 yards.”
This weekend Central Michigan travels to Ball State, the same team that compiled a total of 306 rushing yards a year ago in Mt. Pleasant.
