Angels starter Jered Weaver dropped his appeal Saturday over a six game suspension handed down by Major League Baseball for throwing at the head of Alex Avila last weekend.

That however didn’t stop Weaver from taking a verbal jab at Carlos Guillen.

When asked why he didn’t wait for Guillen next year since the Angels and Tigers don’t play again this season Weaver had this today…

“Who knows if I’m going to be able to face him again,” he said. “Is he going to have a job next year?”

Chris Iott of Mlive.com was able to get Guillen’s response when he was notified Saturday night…

“What did he say?” Guillen inquired when asked if he had seen Weaver’s comments.

When he was informed, his response was brief and to the point.

“I don’t have anything to say,” he said.

Guillen really doesn’t need to say anything else to Weaver. His bat did enough talking last weekend.
