Louie Sanchez, 29, and Marvin Norwood, 30 have been charged with the beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow during opening day at Dodgers Stadium on March 31st. The charges include one count each of mayhem, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, and battery with serious bodily injury, all which are felonies in the state of California. Both are also being held on $500,000 bail after being arrested Thursday.
After the arrest of Sanchez and Norwood, gruesome details emerged about the beating itself.
The complaint alleged both men personally inflicted great bodily injury on Stow, “causing him to become comatose due to brain injury and to suffer paralysis.” The mayhem count alleged that they “did cut and disable the tongue, and put out an eye and slit (Stow’s) nose, ear and lip.”
With the arrest of two new suspects Giovanni Ramirez, the original suspect in the case who was arrested two months ago, has been declared innocence and is no longer considered a suspect. He however remains in jail on unrelated charges.
Stow, a 42-year-old paramedic and father, remains hospitalized in San Francisco in serious condition.
