The Golden Knights were so close to keeping their undefeated streak in the playoffs alive tonight when it appeared that Jonathan Marchessault ended the game and sent Vegas to a 2-0 series lead. However the goal was called back upon further review for goaltender interference by Marchessault when he was almost running parallel to the net but making contact with Sharks goaltender Martin Jones while he was still in the crease.

This is exactly the type situation the League would like to avoid, especially given the circumstances and recent controversy this season concerning goaltender inference. However it appears the officials got the call right so the League can probably rest easy on this one.

UPDATE: The Sharks took advantage of the second chance as Logan Couture scored in double OT on the power play.
