A mysterious Twitter account created this past September, that only responds to journalists and fans, and is oddly enough staunchly pro Matt Patricia is suspected of being a burner account for the recently fired Lions head coach.
The Big Lead brought the account — which goes by @EddyPLionsFan to light early Tuesday morning after the user fired off a bunch of tweets in support of Patricia Monday night after almost three months of going dark.
Obviously, there has to be more to all of this aside from someone who appears if anything to be the world’s only fan of Patricia. Some of those clues include:
- Edward is Matt Patricia’s middle name.
- The bio says that “Eddy” is a father of three. Patricia also has three kids.
- Also in the bio, it says “Eddy” is a “tech nerd”. The former Lions head coach graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
- “Eddy” follows a total of 77 different accounts most of which are either Detroit Lions, more notable current and/or former New England Patriots players/staff, Elon Musk, Tesla, and Barstool Sports which The Big Lead points out “has connections” with Patricia.
- There were zero tweets made during a Lions game. You’d figure in any sense that a big Lions fan like “Eddy” would at least tweet once or twice during one of Detroit’s massive on-field failures.
There’s also a few tweets that stand out, not just for their defense of Patricia but their apparent inside knowledge of the Lions front office and locker room.
For instance, “Eddy’s” comment about the Lions QB Matthew Stafford being “uncoachable”.
Sure, that could be some overzealous Lions fan who coached a few games of peewee football giving their assessment of Stafford. However, I’d think any disillusioned Lions fan would just simply say Stafford “sucked” and leave it at that.
Then there’s this…
Okay, how would “Eddy” know that the Lions organization never “listened” to “Coach Patricia”?
Apparently, though it wasn’t just the organization, the “Eddy” claims the players also never listened to him… I mean “Coach Patricia”.
But again though, as far as the Organization not listening to “Coach Patricia” does “Eddy” have more first-hand knowledge that Quinn drafted and signed players that the former head coach didn’t agree with? That’s not something any fan or even a member of the media would necessarily know first hand. Only someone with that first-hand knowledge would reasonably be able to make that claim.
My best guess is this is some troll trying to make it seem like this is a Matt Patricia burner account. I base this on nothing really in particular other than circumstantial evidence is just that, circumstantial evidence. Then again I wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if Patricia is behind this account.
