Former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel always seemed to have his way with Michigan, when the playing field was less than level. Unfortunately (or fortunately, however which way you look at it) Tressel will never get the opportunity to play Michigan in a fair game. This didn’t stop Tressel from taking one last shot at Michigan during a fan rally at his home. In front of around 200 people Tressel said this…

“Don’t forget. On Nov. 26, we’re gonna kick their ass.”

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported this after fans gathered at Tressel’s home in support of him after he resigned last week amid major NCAA violations. Here is another excerpt from the Plain Dealer Story…

Dressed in an Ohio State shirt and black shorts, with an Ohio State flag flapping under an American flag on the flagpole in his yard, Tressel greeted the fans along with his wife Ellen, shaking their hands and posing for photos for about half an hour.

Fans sang several songs, including the favorite “We Don’t Give a Damn for the Whole State of Michigan.” At the conclusion of that song, Tressel told the crowd, ‘Don’t forget. On Nov. 26, we’re gonna kick their ass.”

Tressel also said he was born a Buckeye and would die a Buckeye. He left his position as the coach of the Buckeyes after 10 years, pressured to resign after committing serious NCAA violations that created a public relations storm for the university.

Are Ohio State fans really that naive? Are they really supporting an individual that has brought tremendous embarrassment on their University? I guess ignorance truly is bliss.
