Pistons President Joe Dumars recently told Terry Foster of  the Detroit News that he would like to re-sign veteran forward Tayshaun Prince whose in the final year of his contract.

There is also still a chance that Prince is dealt before the Thursday 3PM ET deadline. All indications however point to Prince remaining with the team for the final 25 games of the season.

โ€œI would,โ€ Dumars said when asked if he would like Prince to return next season. โ€œAnd weโ€™ve talked about that. Tayshaun has been good here for a long time so I absolutely want to have that conversation at some point.โ€

Prince doesnโ€™t think heโ€™ll be traded

โ€œIt was brought up that if I could go to a team where I could win, my answer was yes,โ€ Prince said. โ€œBut at the same time, if it did not pan out, of course I would want to finish the final 25 games. Iโ€™ve been through the good times and the bad times. I never once walked in there (to Dumarsโ€™ office) and said Iโ€™ve got to go. Iโ€™ve struck through the thick and thin.โ€

Prince has recently stated that he would welcome a trade to a contending team however Dumars has been limited on the trade front primarily due to the ownership situation.  The interest in Prince seems to be limited as well.
