Kids often follow in the footsteps of their parents which is certainly the case (for the most part) in professional sports. We’ve seen Gordie Howe and Mark Howe, Ken Griffey Jr and Sr, Cal Ripken Jr and Sr, Brett Hull and Bobby Hull, etc. However there is that certain case where a child would go pro but that sport they play is something totally different than what their parent played before them. Recently SI.com showcased just thing in a series they called “Same Name, Different Game” and low and behold there was a couple of Detroit connections.
