Former Lions WR Titus Young continues to be a productive member of society.
According to David Leon Moore of USA Today, Young was apparently arrested in Los Angeles on felony battery charges with bail set at $105,000. No other details on Young’s arrest were revealed but it did occur a day before Young was scheduled to appear at a pretrial hearing in Newport Beach, California, where he is facing four felonies and seven other criminal charges.
Of course this all adds to Young’s growing rap sheet.
Back in May of 2013 Young was arrested 4 times in the month included 3 times in one week. These charges included burglary and assault later leading to more trouble in June when Young was slapped with two misdemeanor criminal trespassing charges.
The NFL even offered help to Young when he was still sabotaging games for the Lions. Young however declined:
“It was someone very, very close to him who was just concerned — really concerned,” Troy Vincent, then the NFL’s director of player development, told Yahoo.com at the time. “Once we got the call, we sent someone out to meet with him … We were told he was not interested in support. We went to people very close to his center of influence, to reach out to see how we can support him. The response was of someone who is not open arms to being supported.”
Young was eventually released by the Lions in February of 2013 after a series of behavioral problems finally caught up with him including punching then teammate Louis Delmas. He was also released by the Rams before ever taking the field for St. Louis.
Taken in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Young compiled 81 catches for 990 yards and 10 touchdowns in two years in the League.
