Crushed was one way to describe the Lions 26-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday afternoon.
After a slow start resulting in a lackluster running game that generated just 16-yards among the running backs Stafford was forced to air the ball out. Unfortunately for the Lions signal caller, who ironically enough was the team’s leading rusher today he garnered little support from his offensive line.
Not that the offensive line was the only problem today. Stafford again wasn’t great however he also took his fair share of nasty hits on 53 passing attempts. This also included an early one right to the chest that looked as though it may keep Stafford from returning.
Well Stafford returned but the hits kept coming eventually resulting in the Detroit quarterback undergoing x-rays on his chest and ribs after the game.
Matthew Stafford got x-rays on his ribs and chest after the game. He looked to be in a lot of pain in the locker room.

The results of those x-rays aren’t known and Stafford wasn’t saying much after the game.
Monday I’m sure the Lions still won’t be saying much about the x-rays or Stafford’s status for next weekend when Detroit takes on the Denver Broncos in the home opener.
Unfortunately things aren’t getting any easier for a team that’s 0-2 and looking pretty awful.
