In a statement to the media Detroit Lions Owner and Chairwomen Martha Ford announced the promotions to replace fired General Manager Martin Mayhew and Team President Tom Lewand.

Ford announced the promotion on the interim basis Vice President of Pro Personnel Sheldon White to General Manager and Senior Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer Allison Maki to Chief Operations Officer.
Sheldon White has been with the Detroit Lions for 19-seasons in various roles in the personnel department. His most recent post as Vice President of Pro Personnel since 2009.
Allison Maki has been with the Detroit Lions for 12-years after a stint as an executive at Ernst and Young. Her promotion at this point will also be on an interim. In her statement, Martha Ford made it a point that a “national search” for the next general manager will begin immediately.
