Detroit

Dan Campbell was introduced today as the new Lions head coach as he takes the reigns from the disastrous wet fart otherwise known as Matt Patricia.

During the introduction, Campbell gave a fiery introduction not lost on Lions fans or any fan base for that matter who’s gone through the hell that Detroit fans have gone through.

The 44-year-old Campbell said he wanted to spare fans and the media of the “coach speak” which is typical in these intros but proceeded to give fiery “coach speak” which also isn’t uncommon.

Look out for your knee caps though if you’re a Detroit opponent in 2021. Because after the Lions get “knocked” down after “kicking” the other team’s teeth in, Detroit is going to bite a knee cap off on their way back up.

No joke.

Perhaps though this is what attracted the Lions’ brass to Campbell in the first place.

Now obviously an introductory presser full of one-liners isn’t something to get overly excited about. Lions fans have seen something like this before. Perhaps not with the intensity or the threat to “bite off kneecaps” but I’m sure you get what I’m saying.

Beyond any of this though, Campbell isn’t a guy it’s easy to get excited about. It still feels like the Lions went the way of hiring a guy without a GM being completely on board given the timing of Campbell’s hiring and Brad Holmes hiring.

That would lead you to believe the Lions once again have brought aboard a head coach that didn’t have the full endorsement of the GM. I’m sure we can all remember to some extent when the Lions handcuffed Bob Quinn in keeping around Jim Caldwell, which was a good move in hindsight but a practice that shouldn’t be undertaken.
