Detroit Lions 2016 Salary Cap Table

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are entering their off-season without much salary cap space (without making any cuts) to address their many needs. Depending on what the NFL salary cap ends up being the $16.4 and $24.4 million dollars to spend and a ton of talent to procure in order to make this a playoff team.

Here is what the current Detroit Lions salary cap picture looks like:

Last Update: 1/4/15

The Detroit Lions currently have about $360 thousand dollars in dead cap, a really low number, but they haven’t made any “cap casualty” cuts this off-season. They also have a couple of deals that they could end that would save the club a lot of money that could be used to address other needs.

Expect a new, outside the organization General Manager to make a lot painful cuts that will send a lot of familiar faces packing. This likely includes wide receiver Calvin Johnson and possibly quarterback Matthew Stafford.
