  • Reliever Joel Zumaya is ready to go full speed after recovering from surgery where a stabilizing screw was placed in his elbow on July 12th. New Tigers catcher and DH caught Zumaya’s bullpen session today and said that the ball was ‘jumping out of his (Zumaya’s) hand’.
  • Victor Martinez is excited to be playing along side fellow Venezuelans and think this team can win a World Series.
  • Tigers manager Jim Leyland says Phil Coke needs to calm down a little bit so he doesn’t use all his energy in one inning. It may have been something he could do as a reliever but something he definitely can’t do as a starter.
