Although he will not be ready for opening day against the New York Yankees on March 31st he is expected to take over the second base position when ready. - Reliever Joel Zumaya is ready to go full speed after recovering from surgery where a stabilizing screw was placed in his elbow on July 12th. New Tigers catcher and DH caught Zumaya’s bullpen session today and said that the ball was ‘jumping out of his (Zumaya’s) hand’.
