Dan Mullen has COVID-19.

That’s right, the Florida football coach who after a loss to Texas A&M last week wanted to “Pack the Swamp” have tested positive for virus which has been sweeping through the Gator program.

Isn’t it ironic… don’t ya think?

Mullen is now the third coach on Florida that we know of to test positive for COVID to go along with 21 total players which forced the SEC to postpone their upcoming game against LSU since the Gators were unable to field the conference-mandated 53 scholarship players. Additionally the SEC has delayed Florida’s game against Missouri a week and will now be played on October 31. The game against LSU has been tentatively rescheduled to December 12.

This is all going to get worse though, throughout the SEC and across the country as the Big 10 and Pac-12 prepare to open up their seasons in the coming weeks. This is all a simple and potentially deadly reminder that not only are we ready for sports to reopen — especially college sports where players aren’t even compensated — but we don’t deserve sports at this point.
