According to Wings general manager Ken Holland (via the Detroit Free Press), forward Dan Cleary will be out for the last four preseason games due to an “upper-body” injury.

Cleary was hurt during the teams last preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Holland said he hopes that Cleary will be ready for the October 7 regular season opener against the Ottawa Senators.

Cleary has been skating with the team since the injury occurred.

According to the Free Press, Cleary is expected to be on a line this season with Pavel Datsyuk

So far the only major injury this preseason the Wings have encountered was the injury to Jan Mursak. Mursak will be sidelined with a broken ankle for about 3 months.

Brad Stuart didn’t take part in Wednesday’s skate due to a groin pull however it is considered very minor.
