Trade talks revolving around quarterback Matthew Stafford are intensifying for the Lions according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
“It’s pretty hot and heavy right now,” new Detroit head coach Dan Campbell said Saturday, “We’ve got quite a few offers and so it looks like we’ve got some trade partners, we’re just trying to work out the best scenario and see what’s best for us, ultimately.”
As of this week, the Lions have reportedly talked to a third of the League regarding a trade for Stafford. As of yesterday, the Rams emerged as a “viable contender” according to Stafford as Los Angeles tries to figure out how to rid themselves of Jared Goff.
“I mean, we’re mindful of trying to give him what he wants as well, but he also knows that, listen, we’re going to find the best value for the Detroit Lions and what’s best for us,” Campbell said. “That’s kind of what we’re doing.”
