So with the Conference Championship games wrapped up we’re now two weeks away from a meaningful football game being played which means it’s time to get that offseason NFL drama machine churning.

This week features a story out of the Philly Voice which alleges that Eagles franchise quarterback Carson Wentz is not the most popular person in the Philadelphia locker room. But not only that a ‘half a dozen’ Philly players see Wentz as a “selfish” and “uncompromising” teammate. This is in stark contrast to Nick Foles who was once again tasked with putting the team on his back in the wake of another later season injury from Wentz. Furthermore according to the report, Wentz is a guy who will go out his is way to overcomplicate the offense while playing favorites to a select few of players.

The glaring difference is that Foles, every source stated, would go through progressions within the offense — exactly how it was designed to run — and hit the open receiver, regardless of who it was or where they were on the field. Wentz only saw, it seemed, one receiver the majority of the season: Zach Ertz. This understandably frustrated the rest of the offense, considering other receivers were open downfield. To stop the Eagles in 2018 under Wentz was rather easy: Stop No. 86.

Meanwhile, call it coincidence or call it whatever you want but Zach Ertz was the first Eagles player to come to Wentz’s defense amid the the report.

And after that five more players came forward to defend their quarterback:

If you’re sitting outside the city of Philadelphia or aren’t an Eagles, you can only hope that this leads to some genuine good old fashion off the field drama. But the fact of the matter is given the NFL roster size six players coming forward anonymously to the Philly Voice really isn’t that many. At least not enough to warrant any impending quarterback controversy on the horizon for the Eagles. Truth of the matter is though I’m sure some players can’t fucking stand Wentz and I’m sure sure some love him or in other words the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. What this does do though is add a little bit of flavor to the impending offseason decision the Eagles will have to make between Wentz and Foles.

I’m sure it’ll probably be Wentz though who sticks around.
