Despite the disappointing finish to the year the Detroit Lions got some good news (I guess) as wide receiver Calvin Johnson and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh were named to the 2014 Pro Bowl Roster. But unlike past seasons where Johnson and Suh would be representing the NFC, they could actually play against each other. This year the NFL will rip off the fantasy draft gimmick used by the NHL in their All-Star Game to “liven things up”.
In all honesty though I doubt Johnson or Suh even play in the game.
Anyways, in addition to Calvin and Suh, Lions QB Matthew Stafford, RB Reggie Bush and DT Nick Fairley were named as alternates. I’m not quite sure if they’d get drafted by a captain or simply replace a player who decided not to play. But to tell you the truth I really don’t care. It’s the Pro Bowl.
