After the Tigers’ 15-5 loss to the Texas Rangers in Game 6 of the ALCS Saturday night, first baseman Miguel Cabrera informed reporters that he injured his right shoulder. Cabrera also mentioned that he expected to have the shoulder examined by a doctor later in the week.

Cabrera suffered the injury when he collided with Rangers catcher Mike Napoli in the 8th inning of Game 4 when the game was tied at 3.

According to James Schmehl of Mlive.com, Cabrera admitted that injury did have an effect on his throwing but didn’t affect his plate production. Cabrera hit .314 this postseason and batted .357 in the ALCS with three home runs and seven RBIs.

Tigers fans more than likely don’t need to panic over something like this. It sounds like an injury that will be remedied well before Spring Training rolls around given he played the rest of the series.
