PGA Championship

Brooks Koepka won the 100th annual PGA Championship today his second major of the 2018 after his back-to-back U.S. Open titles. What was most impressive about Koepka this afternoon who finished with a 66 today to total out at 16-under was his ability to keep cool with Adam Scott and Tiger Woods nipping at his heals. Koepka hit two birdies on the back nine Sunday to help seal the victory with a 4-under 66 and two-shot victory. The 28-year-old also joins Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson as the only players with three major victories before hitting their 30th birthday.

But lets be totally honest with ourselves here today was really all about Tiger Woods.

As much as anyone wants to give the accolades to Brooks Koepka, which he certainly deserves you can’t look past Tiger not just being competitive in another major, but looking like the Tiger of old while putting himself in a real position to win Sunday afternoon.

I’m not even going to count the shit show that was the U.S. Open (Remember Koepka won that Tournament with a plus-1) but heading into the PGA Championship, Tiger finished with a minus-5 for sixth overall, minus-11 at the Players Championship in mid May and was at least playing golf on Sunday at the Masters. And with that said we’ve gone from Tigers actually playing in tournaments, to Tiger at least making the cut to Tiger at least making it to Sunday to Tiger challenging for wins.

Plus look how Tiger entered the course the course today. Ready to fucking play.

So if you don’t want to say he’s back, that’s fine you don’t have to. In all fairness he still hasn’t won a major in years. But I think it’s pretty safe to assume that a competitive Tiger Woods is definitely back which is good for everyone. It’s also not out of the realm of possibility anyone that Tiger will win another major at some point down the road.
