Despite a report from Brett McMurphy that Mel Tucker had been fired, Michigan State has suspended their head coach (without pay) amid a sexual harassment investigation. Additionally, Harlon Barnett will serve as the team’s interim head coach in Tucker’s absence while Mark Dantonio will return to help as an associate coach… wow.

The move comes less than 24 hours after USA Today dropped on bombshell report detailing the sexual harassment allegations against the MSU head coach by Brenda Tracy, a prominent sexual violence activist and rape survivor. However, don’t mistake the perception that Michigan State’s AD is acting swiftly considering Tracy filed a complaint with MSU’s Title IX office back in December. A press conference held by the University today further confirmed the school’s knowledge of the situation.

Nonetheless, it seems like Tucker’s days at MSU are numbered. What Tucker has already admitted to maybe damning enough in terms of cause when it comes to his future in East Lansing.

Currently, Tucker is scheduled to have a Title IX hearing next month during Michigan State’s bye week.
