Billy Cundiff may want to invest in a good disguise when he makes his return to Baltimore.
The Baltimore Ravens got within the 20 yard in with 20 seconds left in the AFC Championship game with a chance to beat the Pats on the road and head to the Super Bowl.
Joe Flacco, who by all accounts outplayed Tom Brady Sunday afternoon looked to of connected with Lee Evans for the go ahead touchdown before it was knocked out of his hands by Sterling Moore.
Then to out came Billy Cundiff to try to send the game to overtime with what looked to be an automatic 32 yard field goal.
This however wasn’t the case as Cundiff shanked the ball wide left to send Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl.
New England started out the game with look pretty strong on defense taking a 10-3 lead. However Joe Flacco and the Baltimore offense was able to cut into the lead and trail 13-10 going into halftime.
Baltimore then took a 17-16 lead after a Torrey Smith touchdown down the sideline. The Ravens extended this lead to 20-16 after a Julian Edelman fumble to start the fourth quarter.
As the final quarter progressed Tom Brady was able to get into the end zone on a fourth and inches to give the Patriots a 23-20 lead. Flacco threw an interception on the ensuing possession but Baltimore’s defense was able to hold New England to a three and out and get the ball back.
On Baltimore’s final drive, Flacco was able to get the Ravens down within striking distance after a big play by Anquan Boldin. This however was all for not as became infamous in the eyes of Baltimore fans everywhere with the missed field goal.
