If you thought Michigan head coach John Beilein would be upset that Darius Morris is testing the NBA Draft waters you would be mistaken.

According to Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press Beilein mentioned today that he will help Morris assess his positioning in the NBA Draft.

“This is really a good issue to have,” Beilein said. “If we have these situations every year where we have young men who have that possibility of being drafted or most importantly have a career in the NBA these are good things to have.”

“I will have given thoughts, but I stay pretty open-minded,” Beilein said. “There’s nothing we want more than to have Darius Morris have a career in the NBA. There’s nothing we want more. We will work toward that — that’s the big thing, to have a career in the NBA.”

Beilein was reportedly proactive in approaching Morris last week to fill out an application to have the NBA underclassman advisory panel assess his draft status.

Once this is done, Morris will have until April 24th to enter his name into the NBA Draft. If Morris was to add his name he could still remove his name from the draft consideration and return to school as long as he didn’t hire an agent.
