The Los Angeles Angels made the very most of their first home game since the death of Tyler Skaggs on July 1st — by throwing a combined no-hitter in a 13-0 win over the Seattle Mariners.

In a real-life Angels in the Outfield scenario, the Angels scored seven runs in the first inning to jump out to a huge lead and added two in the second to make it 9-0. LA starter Tayler Cole threw two perfect innings to open up the game while Felix Pena tossed seven hitless innings to finish out the game allowing just a walk in the fifth.

After the game, every single Angels player took off their No. 45 jerseys and laid them down on the mound in an incredibly moving moment to cap an equally emotional night.

Before the game, the Angels paid tribute to Skaggs in a ceremony honoring the late pitcher. Skaggs’ mother threw out the first pitch and the team observed 45 seconds of silence to equal Skaggs’ jersey number. The team also unveiled a number of new signs around the stadium honoring Skaggs including one in the outfield.
