Dodger Stadium

Last night’s Dodgers/Angels exhibition game from Dodger Stadium was called in the fifth inning due to a bunch of shit on the field.

And no I’m not talking the shitty play of Shohei Ohtani which unfortunately may plaque Angel Stadium this summer if his spring performance is any indication. I’m talking actual shit flooding on to the field near the Dodgers dugout causing the foul territory to literally be a foul territory. Sorry…

According to Dodgers president Stan Kasten the cause of the problem was a “pipe backup on two different levels of the stadium” which ultimately led to sewage leaking onto the field and from the sound of it into Dave Roberts‘ office as well.

Deadspin also published some fun quotes from some of the players in reaction. Notice like myself, Ross Stripling is also horrible with the puns:

“Eww,” shortstop Corey Seager said as he raced out of the clubhouse.

“Crappy way to end the spring,” pitcher Ross Stripling said. “Get it?” […]

“I smelled it,” [Andrew] Toles said. “It was nasty. I’m not going to tell you what it really was, that’s kind of messed up. But, yeah, it was nasty, man. It was a tragic thing.”

I’m not sure what kind of food they’re serving at Dodger Stadium to cause this kind of catastrophe but LA is playing host to the Giants on Thursday night for opening day. Team officials though are vowing that the Stadium will be cleared of the poop by the time tomorrow evening’s first pitch rolls around.
