According to AL.com, Lions defensive tackle (and former first round draft pick) Nick Fairly was arrested Tuesday on second degree marijuana possession in Mobile, Alabama.

Here is what AL.com is reporting (via Mlive.com)

Fairley, 24, was held at the jail on $1,000 bail. Mobile police spokeswoman Ashley Rains said that citizens in the Morningside Manor neighborhood of Mobile, a subdivision west of Navco Road, called police complaining about a car speeding through the neighborhood several times about noon.

Police spotted the vehicle, which was being driven by Fairley, about 12:30 p.m., and marijuana was found in the football player’s possession, Rains said. No one else was arrested with Fairley, she said.

The Lions also released the following statement…

“We are aware of the incident involving Nick Fairley. We hold all of our players to a high standard of behavior and the recent charges against Nick and Mikel Leshoure are not consistent with those standards. We are extremely disappointed. We will continue to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.”

This latest arrest marks the second run in with the law involving a Lions player and Marijuana. Monday, Lions running back Mikel Leshoure failed to appear at a court hearing in Western Michigan stemming from a second offseason charge of marijuana possession. He was later given till Thursday to appear or a bench warrant would be issued for his arrest.

But it doesn’t end there.

Lions backup tackle Johnny Culbreath was also arrested late in January for marijuana possession. Culbreath, Leshoure and Fairley were all drafted by the Lions in 2011 and each could face disciplinary action by the NFL which could include fines and/or suspensions.
