The Lions have re-signed DE Cliff Avril to his one-year tender which is believed to be worth a little more than $3 million dollars.
Avril, 25 had a breakout season with the Lions last season amassing 8.5 sacks despite playing in 13 of the 16 games.
Even though the one-year tender gets Avril into camp and back with the Lions in 2011, he is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2012.
It is expected that the Lions will continue to work out a long-term deal with Avril as training camp progresses.
