The Michigan Stars had a chance to clinch the top spot in Group A of the NISA Fall Tournament Thursday night against New Amsterdam FC. Unfortunately for the Stars, they had to settle for a 2-2 draw against a NAFC team that had scored only one goal during the abbreviated 2020 Fall Season.

But perhaps fortunately enough for Michigan, they seemed lucky to managed to scrape together the draw considering their disciplinary issues on the field that resulted in two red cards on the night.

Midfielder Alex Satrustegui scored himself two yellows in two minutes which put the Stars down a man in the first half. Meanwhile, in the second half, Remy Tazifor notched Michigan their second red card at the 53′ forcing the Stars to play with nine players for the majority of the final half.

NAFC was able to initially capitalize on the two-player advantage when Michael Bello put New Amsterdam up 2-1 at the 64′ who seemed primed to earn their first club victory during the NISA fall season.

However, NAFC fell victim to a bad call at the 77′ giving the Stars a penalty which Steven Juncaj capitalized on.

George Juncaj may have threatened to dunk some guys head in the toilet after the match

Aside from the shit that was the 90′-plus stretch that was the actual match, the real comedy seemed to happen in the post-game.

Initially, the Twitter account for the New Amsterdam supporters tweeted out that Michigan Stars owner George Juncaj actually went on to the field after the match to threaten NAFC players.

Soccer writer Sean Spence had some further details on the altercation writing on his Patreon that the incident actually took place 10-minutes after the final whistle when the elder Juncaj went onto the pitch to confront the New Amsterdam manager after the Michigan owner apparently felt as though there was some deliberate action taken by NAFC to injure his players.

However, the best part in my opinion about all of this was when George told someone on New Amsterdam to either “go put your head in the toilet” or “I’ll put your head in the toilet” according to Spence.

Wow…

Anyways, it’s not clear at this point if NISA will take any action against the Stars or if they’re even investigating. Either way, Michigan will take on the Oakland Roots Sunday in the final match of the Group A round-robin.
