Carlos Boozer racked up 23 points and 8 rebounds while the reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose added 22 as the Bulls destroyed the Pistons 92-68 Monday night from the United Center.
The Pistons have now dropped four straight and fall to 2-7 on the season.
Second year player Greg Monroe led the Pistons with a double-double scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds while rookie Brandon Knight added 13 points. Ben Gordon and Tayshaun Prince each scored 11 as four of the five starters scored in double figures.
Despite the starters seemingly getting some steady scoring the Pistons had 18 turnovers and just 14 assists. On top of that the Bulls were able to beat the Pistons on the glass 41-37.
Former longtime Pistons Richard Hamilton missed tonight’s game with a groin injury and hasn’t played since last Wednesday’s game at The Palace. The Pistons on the other hand were without guard Rodney Stuckey who has been suffering from a groin injury and Charlie Villanueva whose dealing with a bad ankle.
The Bulls were able to hit their first seven shots of the game and got out to an early 9-0 lead. The Pistons were able to battle back and tie the game at 21 all at the end of the first quarter. However the Bulls defense took over after that limiting the Pistons to only 13 points in the second quarter.
