In what may be the most dramatic and wild finish to an NFL game this year happened yesterday afternoon between the Lions and Dallas Cowboys from Ford Field.
Looking lethargic and beaten the Lions got the ball back with a minute two and no timeouts in their pocket Matthew Stafford led his team down field with the help of a 22-yard reception from Calvin Johnson (who came within 7 yards of Flipper Anderson’s all-time mark at 329) to get Detroit down to the half yard line. However looking as though he was just going to kill the clock with 12 seconds remaining in the game Stafford showed everyone he had cojones of steel by leaping over the goal line for the game winning TD.
Finally, this wasn’t just another Lions victory, it was more indication that this isn’t a team made up of the same character set and a game that once again proved that Matthew Stafford has the capability to be one of the best in the game.
