On Thanksgiving, people are usually thankful for family and friends however during the Lions/Packers game from Ford Field, Green Bay was thankful for the ref’s throwing Ndamukong Suh out of the game.
It all started after the Lions were able to stop Green Bay on a third and goal situation. After this, for an unknown reason, Suh started pushing a Green Bay’s Evan Dietrich-Smith’s head into the ground, repeatedly. When the ref came over, Suh got up and stomped his foot down onto the Dietrich-Smith’s arm. A penalty flag was then thrown, and Ndamukong Suh was thrown from the game. When he walked over to coach Jim Schwartz, he mouthed the words “This is F*****g Bulls***!” Jim Schwartz talked with him for a minute and then Suh walked away.
Suh then addressed the media after the game,
“I was on top of a guy being pulled down and trying to get up off the ground,” Suh said. “Why you see me pushing his helmet down, because I’m trying to remove myself from the situation and as I’m getting up, I’m getting pushed, so I’m getting myself on balance and getting out of the situation. With that, a lot of people are going to interpret it as, or create their own storylines for seeing what they want to interpret it, but I know what I did and the man upstairs knows what I did.”
Suh tells us he didn’t intend to hurt his opponent.
“I don’t do bad things, and I have no intention to hurt somebody. If I want to hurt him, I’m going to hit his quarterback, as I did throughout that game.”
Evan Dietrich-Smith went on to say that “stuff happens”.
In my opinion, Ndamukong Suh is a dirty player. His statement about trying to get up and regain balance and get out of the situation could be true however isn’t likely. Hopefully his actions Thursday won’t keep him out of action too long when the league reviews the play next week.
