Stafford likely playing Sunday against the Broncos

After taking most, if not all of the reps with the first team offense on Thursday and once again on Friday, it’s looking more like a certainty that Matthew Stafford will be the starting quarterback Sunday when the Lions take on the Broncos in Denver.

Furthermore, Friday morning Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reported that Stafford hasn’t had any set backs regarding the ankle he injured during last weekends 23-16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Now with Stafford likely starting Sunday, it’s looking like rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley will not play. Fairley missed a virtually all of training camp and a few weeks in the beginning of the season due to a foot injury that is once again bothering him now.
