- Former Minnesota Vikings WR and current ESPN analyst Cris Carter decided to put down the pipe and realize that his arguments against Calvin Johnson being a top 5 receiver were very much flawed.
- Speaking of Calvin Johnson, he was held out of practice today has he continues to deal with a sore shoulder. Lions fans still don’t need to panic about this.
- The Lions currently have a little bit of a banged up secondary as CB’s Chris Houston and Eric Wright were both limited in practice today with injured groins. It’s unclear if they’ll be ready for this Friday’s preseason game against the Browns, Wright’s former team.
- Third string QB Drew Stanton and WR Derrick Williams seem to be developing a chemistry on the field. Too bad they’ll never be on the field in regular season game time situations, knock on wood.
- The Lions are pleased with the progress that OT Jeff Backus is making as he continues to recover from a pectoral injury. However Backus won’t be rushed in his recovery.
