New Orleans Saints QB coach Joe Lombardi – who happens to be the grandson of the legendary Vince Lombardi – has been hired by the Lions as the team’s new offensive coordinator according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

Lombardi spent his last seven seasons within the Saints organization with the previous five serving as the quarterbacks coach. Prior to that he was a graduate of the Air Force Academy before coaching Mercyhurst, Bucknell, VMI, Dayton as well as a stint in the XFL.
