DeAndre Levy, who dined on Llama and was proud of breaking that ‘dirtbag’ Joe Paterno‘s leg while with Wisconsin (which ultimately made him one of my favorite Lions) will be released according to Ian Rapoport.

The plan to release the former third round pick back in 2009 is a bit of a change in mindset for general manager Bob Quinn who said during the combine that ‘as of today’ he felt like Levy would ‘be back next year.’ However if the Lions cut Levy prior to the weekend they’ll be off the hook for $1.75 million of his salary. It’s also been reported that Quinn will designate the Levy as a post June 1st cut enabling them to save money under the cap. The Lions however will be unable to use that saved money until after that date.
Levy has also been limited to just six games over the past two seasons due to injury. Or Llama poisoning, one of the two.
