Uh oh, Lions fans, starting quarterback Matthew Stafford appeared on Friday’s injury report ahead of Sunday’s matchup with high-powered Kansas City…
According to Mlive.com, Stafford was a limited participant in Friday’s practice with what is said to be a ‘hip injury’ despite being a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday. So it seems likely that whatever happened to Stafford happened during yesterday’s practice.
Anyways though, before Lions fans start to panic at the thought of Detroit having to trot out David Blough on Sunday keep in mind the NFL has surprisingly gotten more indistinct when it comes to their injury reports. They did away with the “probable” designation during the offseason so teams are now unable to distinguish to the public between “probable” and “questionable”. In any sense, Stafford could very well be “probable” still for Sunday especially given he was still participated to some capacity today.
So unless Stafford’s hip is dislocated and/or he’s awaiting surgery over the weekend I’m sure the guy whose started all 131 regular-season games since 2011 and currently holds the sixth longest active streak in NFL history will probably give it a go Sunday.
