The New York Jets have released three-time Pro Bowl running back Le’Veon Bell after the team was unsuccessful in trading the disgruntled veteran.

The Jets have apparently been trying to trade Bell for weeks but reportedly couldn’t even get a late round pick in return according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.

Despite saving up to $9.4 million on the salary cap in 2021 by cutting Bell, he’ll still account for $4 million in dead money next season, a fully guaranteed contract this year plus bonuses that totals over $15 million under the cap this year.
